Prof. Chen has 25 years’ experience in teaching, venture investment, strategic planning, technology incubation and IT and business consulting. Prof. Chen is the Adjunct Professor at Graduate Institute of Management, National Taiwan Normal University ; Visiting Professor at BioMedical Translation Research Center of Academia Sinica ; Visiting Professor at Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS), Kyoto University, Japan ; Visiting Scholar at Department of BioMedical Data Science, School of Medicine, Stanford University ; Adjunct Professor at Department & Graduate Institute of Business Administration, National Taiwan University ; Adjunct Professor at Executive Master of Business Administration Program, School of Life Science, National Yang-Ming University ; Adjunct Professor at Department of Information Management and Finance, National Chiao-Tung University.

Prof. Chen was also invited to serve as the Independent Director of Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation ; President of NTNU Innovation Investment Holding Company, a University Venture Capital ; The Specialist, Science & Technology Policy Advisory Office, Board of Science and Technology (BOST), Executive Yuan in Taiwan to review and coordinate the overall development of national science and technology (S&T) policy ; Researcher at NTU Center for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Robotics ; Adjunct researcher at NTU Center of Technology Policy and Industry Development ; Co-PI (Collaborating Principal Investigator) of International Collaboration Project in TSPA Program for Translational Innovation of Biopharmaceutical Development at Academia Sinica ; and, Deputy Director of YMCT Center for Smart Healthcare at National Chiao-Tung University.

Prior to his academic careers, Prof. Chen served as the Chief Investment Officer for Acer Inc., Before Prof. Chen advanced his career at Acer, he was the Associate Vice President in Strategic Investment at Asus Computer. Prior to Asus, he also joined Japan Nomura group’s venture capital arm, JAFCO Investment as Assistant Vice President. Before joining JAFCO, Prof. Chen spent his professional career with Hewlett Packard in its Consulting Service Division. Prior to HP, Prof. Chen worked in Acer with various assignments in Tokyo/Japan, Taiwan, and Silicon Valley/USA.
 
Prof. Chen founded more than 10 start-up companies in industries including technologies, advanced materials, internet, media and digital contents, green energy, and long-term healthcare. Prof. Chen has a Ph.D. in Information Management and an MBA from National Taiwan University. He also holds an MS. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California. Prof. Chen can speak in Chinese, English, and Japanese.
